Avandia
Avandia, manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline, is a treatment for Type-2 diabetes mellitus. 18 million Americans suffer from this disease. More than 6 million people worldwide have been prescribed the drug.
On May 21, 2007, the New England Journal of Medicine published a Cleveland Clinic study demonstrating that patients taking Avandia had a 43% higher incidence of heart attacks compared to those taking placebo or other treatments. Subsequent studies appear to have confirmed this risk.
We represent those who are or were injured by taking Avandia. If you or a loved one had a heart attack, stroke or congestive heart failure while taking Avandia you may have a case. Contact us to discuss your potential Avandia case or fill out the Case Evaluation Form. Remember, do not stop taking any medication without consulting with your physician first.
