Dru Nielsen's practice at Reilly Pozner focuses on both criminal and civil litigation.

Dru is a veteran criminal defense attorney. Prior to joining Reilly Pozner, Dru was a Deputy State Public Defender for ten years. As a public defender, Dru had the unique opportunity to litigate cases all over the state. As a result, Dru gained an excellent reputation throughout Colorado as an exceptional trial lawyer and formidable opponent in the courtroom.

Dru has handled thousands of felony cases, including many very serious and high-profile cases. In her years as a Deputy State Public Defender, Dru tried many cases to a jury including, First Degree Murder, Attempted Murder, Sexual Assault, Aggravated Robbery, Economic Crimes, Conspiracy, Child Abuse and Kidnapping to name a few. Dru has also lectured to hundreds of criminal defense attorneys about trial tactics and procedure. When Dru left the public defender's office she was a felony division leader in Denver supervising ten other felony attorneys.

Dru went to law school to become a criminal defense attorney. She sincerely believes that all people must be zealously and passionately represented, especially when the government seeks to deprive them of their life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. Dru honed her skills during law school, participating and winning both the University of Colorado and the regional finals of the National Trial Competition. Dru also was an associate editor of the University of Colorado Law Review.

Dru was born and raised in Golden, Colorado. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and two sons.
