Diversity At RPC
At RPC, we firmly believe that diversity among our attorneys and staff increases our effectiveness as advocates and makes the firm a more interesting and stimulating place to work.
Therefore, we actively seek qualified candidates who will bring to the firm a variety of experiences and perspectives. We are cognizant of the fact that women, ethnic minorities, people with disabilities, gays and lesbians, and other discrete groups are underrepresented in the legal community, and we are committed to creating a legal community that more accurately reflects the diversity of the American people.
To this end, we use targeted recruiting to diversify our applicant pool when hiring summer associates, entry-level associates, and lateral attorneys. In addition, we have participated in programs sponsored by the Colorado Diversity in the Legal Profession Committee, and we are a signatory to the Colorado Pledge To Diversity. Applicants are encouraged to visit the Colorado Pledge To Diversity website, for information on the Pledge Group's annual programs and the commitments to diversity made by the signatories.
The firm also participates annually in the Pledge Group's Summer Diversity Clerkship Program. Further, we recruit at the Rocky Mountain Legal Diversity Career Fair, and have successfully recruited from the fair.
Our managing partner, Dan Reilly, was invited to serve on the Dean's Diversity Counsel, a group formed by the deans of the University of Denver and the University of Colorado law schools to increase diversity in the Colorado legal community. The Dean's Diversity Counsel is composed of managing partners and in-house counsel of prominent Denver law firms and companies.
The firm has an active Diversity Committee that meets regularly to monitor our progress on all of these fronts. These efforts, along with a firm culture that values and embraces the contributions that each individual brings to the firm, create an atmosphere where attorneys and staff of all backgrounds can thrive.
Finally, RPC supports local minority bar associations and student groups. The following are a few helpful links to those organizations:
